Telehouse Metro increases uptime & cost efficiencies of City businesses
Jul 19, 2005
Telehouse Europe, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of secure colocation and data centre facilities, today announced a new tailored service for London-based SMEs, providing a secure off-site location for housing IT systems at its city-based Metro site. This offering will help SMEs overcome rising office property premiums, by reducing the floor space occupied by IT systems, whilst at the same time making the business less vulnerable to physical loss or damage of critical business systems.
A purpose-built data centre, such as Telehouse Europe’s Metro data centre, enables businesses to consider risk mitigation and meet regulatory demands over reliable systems. Facilities such as on-site engineering support 24 hours a day, fire protection systems and powerful cooling systems enable businesses to put business continuity plans in place protecting revenue and business reputation.
Telehouse Europe’s Metro service is a solution to the increasing lack of space available to businesses in the city and can be a solution to property price rises.
“Many businesses are using valuable office space as an in-house data centre, incurring ongoing costs that are hard to justify” comments Peter Morgan-Hare, business development director, Telehouse Europe. “Office environments are not usually set up to ensure redundant power systems and sufficient cooling systems are in place, therefore using a purpose-built data centre to support the business can improve uptime as well as providing cost efficiencies.”
A new fibre link between Telehouse’s two sites – Metro and Docklands - also allows city businesses to take advantage of the wide-range of carriers available at Telehouse’s premium Docklands site. However this is now available in a convenient location and without the higher cost per square metre experienced in the Canary Wharf and Docklands area.
