NewNet Counts savings with Telehouse
Founded in 1995, NewNet has established itself as a leading ISP in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe.
Over the last six years, NewNet has assisted 1,000s of companies of all sizes to establish and maintain their Internet presence. With an availability rate of 99.975%, NewNet has been successful in both attracting new customers while maintaining high customer retention levels.
This was made possible through relationships with some of the UK's top network and colocation providers. While NewNet chose to disperse its operations throughout a select few data centres, there was only one that could offer real cost savings, Telehouse.
Evaluating business needs...
As with any company forging its way in the competitive IT sector there are certain fundamental business requirements that ISP's must meet in order to be successful.
When looking for facilities to locate its business operations to, NewNet sought out buildings that were in a prime location for its business needs, ones that were highly secure and that had high connectivity access levels.
The obvious geographical location to set up their business operations was in London's docklands, the data centre hub of the UK.
NewNet sought out various colocation centres and selected only those that could meet its specific requirements. With its operations dispersed throughout the top tier centres, NewNet could effectively serve its customers and deliver high access levels. While each facility could offer similar features, Telehouse was significantly more cost effective, particularly in terms of carrier costs.
A Profitable Relationship...
Locating to Telehouse five years ago NewNet is now present in both the Telehouse East and North Docklands facilities. Recognised as the industry pioneer, Telehouse had an historical advantage when NewNet selected those it wished to do business with, establishing its presence in Telehouse before moving into other centres.
More specifically, Telehouse was an ideal nodal point for a network and could offer greater accessibility for NewNet's customers. Another added advantage was Telehouse connectivity to Linx.
"Having dealt with various colocation providers, we have discovered that our Telehouse operations are the most cost effective. When looking at our business needs and mapping out plans for future growth this is very important for us to consider. With much consolidation taking place within the colocation market at present, we know that Telehouse will still be around for us to do business with in the years to come," comments Peter Millford, Corporate Manager at NewNet.
"We are always pleased to know when we are outperforming the competition. NewNet has been a valued customer of ours for many years now and it pleases us to know that they are satisfied with the service they have received," concluded Paul Graham, Marketing Manager at Telehouse.
