From the first purpose built data centre in Europe to world leading innovations in connectivity, Telehouse remains a pioneer in the data centre industry and continues to enhance ICT infrastructure solutions across a global client base.

As Telehouse celebrates 25 years in the data centre market we have decided to review our achievements with three Telehouse Innovation World Tour excursions. Take the first step into a world of innovation firsts and join us on our journey as we continue to reaffirm our position as a visionary leader in our market. Admission is free!

The first visit on our World Tour of Innovation is….

….Telehouse New York Teleport:

We start at the beginning, where else! The New York Teleport facility was opened in 1989, and was the first purpose built data centre in the world! With 162,000 square feet of premium colocation space and located in a 100-acre office park on Staten Island, Teleport is just 17 miles from Manhattan and less than 12 miles from Newark Airport. As the the largest Telehouse US facility, Teleport has N+1 UPS configuration, N+1 cooling redundancy and Two completely diverse fibre routes to/from site with diverse building entry paths.

Innovation facts:
As the first data centre in the world, Teleport is also home of the New York International IX. With a completed upgrade to the new Centillion platform, The New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) has enhanced member experience with a higher capacity and a more redundant infrastructure.

Telehouse North:

Opened in 1990, Telehouse North was the first purpose-built colocation data centre in Europe. Telehouse North has been the primary home of the London Internet Exchange since 1994 and continues to be the most connected data centre in Europe and one of the most heavily connected data centres in the world. Telehouse North is one of 5 Telehouse data centres within London and is placed adjacent to the existing sites in the heart of London’s Docklands.

Innovation facts:
With 9,170 m2 of technical space Telehouse North is the first data centre to be built in Europe. As the home of London Internet Exchange (LINX) this data centre is also the most connected data centre in Europe with over 532 connectivity partners. North continues to be a desired location for organisations across the globe and has begun the installation of LINX 100g ports in 2015 – once again aligning client peering demand with the latest technical advances.

Introducing Telehouse North Two:

Telehouse North Two will be setting new standards in data centre efficiencies by incorporating the world’s first Multi Storey Indirect Adiabatic and Evaporative cooling system – delivering an industry leading PUE of 1.16. As the primary home of the London Internet Exchange (LINX), the Docklands campus has around 900 private and public peering ports into LINX, making Telehouse Europe’s leading connectivity hub. With ultra-low latency routes to Europe, America, Russia, Africa and Asia, the Docklands campus is the ideal location for cloud and content service provision.

Innovation facts:
Once built and ready for service in 2016 Q1, Telehouse North Two will be the most connected data centre in Europe, powered by our privately owned Grid Substation at 132KV thus giving customers secure future proof power commitments. Telehouse North Two will also be LINX connected from Day 1 with a hugely competitive PUE.
