Senior Operational Capability Manager

JOB OVERVIEW

Lead the continuous improvement and strategic capability uplift of our data centre operations teams. Enable operational excellence across our data centre estate, enhancing staff capabilities, and embedding robust processes that support current and future business needs.

 

Main Duties, including but not limited to:

  • Ensure continuous improvement across Data Centre teams through driving best practices and developing, establishing and maintaining appropriate process architecture
  • Provide technical coaching and support to data centre teams as required
  • Work with Senior Data Centre Managers and their teams to ensure proactive management and resolution of incidents
  • Drive effective root cause analysis of incidents, develop and implement preventative measures where appropriate
  • Lead service planning activities, including planned maintenance, working with colleagues from across Telehouse to ensure customer impact is clearly understood and managed appropriately
  • Work with the Operational Technology Product Manager to identify tools, systems, and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and monitoring
  • Support the adoption of digital solutions (e.g. DCIM, CMDB, workflow automation platforms) to enhance operational delivery
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to senior leadership on operational maturity, risk, and capability uplift progress
  • Contribute to strategic planning and input into new site readiness and expansion projects

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong experience in data centre operations with a focus on service improvement or capability development
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IT infrastructure, critical environments, and data centre operational practices
  • Familiarity with ITIL, ISO standards, and risk management within critical infrastructure environments
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and initiatives, with excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in metrics and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to produce clear technical documentation
