Supporting your Environmental, Social & Governance goals

At Telehouse, we keep our sustainability commitments at the forefront of our planning. Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) roadmap helps define the policies and procedures that will enable you to make a tangible impact through your own ESG strategy. Our comprehensive plan details the necessary controls, audits and leadership needed to ensure its efficacy.

We have a robust environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and embed ESG best practices across our operations. We are committed to providing an excellent customer experience and conducting business in an ethical, social, and environmentally responsible manner.

We constantly strive to adopt the highest standards to drive energy efficiency, foster green procurement, ensure effective resource management and reduce our carbon footprint.

Telehouse uses 100% clean and renewable energy across all operations. The energy is procured from certified renewable source generators such as wind, solar, biomass and hydro and we hold the Renewable Guarantees of Origin (REGO) certificates and Guarantees of Origin (GoOs). Minimising cooling energy usage: We use EkkoSense’s EkkoSoft Critical SaaS 3D visualisation and analytics platform to minimise cooling energy usage. Emissions reporting: Since 2019, we’ve reported our progress towards net zero targets. Our annual report shares emissions data in accordance with the Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) regulations.

We will continue to ensure an equal, diverse and inclusive culture where discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated. We are committed to driving initiatives that support the wellbeing and mental health of all our employees and provide opportunities for our people to achieve their full potential. We also serve and support the community in which we operate by funding local employment schemes and contributing to community activities. We are committed to adhering to industry standards and are ISO 45001 certified, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of our employees and third parties who may be affected by our activities.

We hold the ISO 27001 Information Security and ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management certifications as well as the relevant environmental standards. We also follow a comprehensive strategic procurement approach when selecting suppliers and awarding contracts for the supply of materials and services. We will continue to operate in an ethical, honest and transparent manner, while also identifying, analysing and addressing the most significant risks to our stakeholders and ensure these are acted upon.

A safe place for our people

We’re dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for our staff, customers and partners.

  • We comply with regulatory and legal standards associated with our operations.
  • We strive for a safe working environment that meets all legal health and safety requirements.
  • We have a strong health and safety culture, aligned with ownership and responsibility.
  • We implement strategies to promote Health and Safety through training and awareness.

At Telehouse, providing a safe and secure environment isn’t just a priority; it’s a fundamental part of the way we work.

Telehouse is committed to meeting its ethical obligations and regulatory requirements. This includes enforcing policies aimed at:

  • Ensuring that its business operates in accordance with a strict code of conduct policy
  • Identifying and managing risks related to its business and establishing protocol to prevent modern statement in accordance with its policy
  • Providing equal opportunities for our employees and avoiding unlawful discrimination in accordance with our Equality and Diversity Policy.

Telehouse is working to embed environmental sustainability best practice in our operations and concentrating business resources in areas that are seen as high risk or have significant carbon emissions, and where we can make the most significant environmental improvements across the business. We strive to adopt the highest standards and encourage behaviours across our operations that enhance energy efficiency, competitiveness and reduce our environmental impact.

We are committed to providing excellent customer service and to conduct business in an ethical, social and environmentally responsible manner. We are proactive and committed to continually improving our overall environmental and energy performance by establishing an environmental policy, strategy, setting objectives and targets. The strategy is focused on climate change action, energy efficiency and green procurement, which support the carbon reduction ambitions of many of our stakeholders. Telehouse is sourcing 100% of its energy for its operations from renewable sources.

We acknowledge that the nature of our industry can have an impact on energy consumption and detrimental environmental impact on our natural resources. However, the growth in cloud, virtualisation and innovative cooling technologies are contributing towards data centre efficiency. Industry experts recommend encouraging first and foremost efficient use of IT devices, as they can turn over quickly and deliver rapid improvements. Telehouse customers benefit from housing their IT infrastructure within an efficient and resilient data centre facility that provides a portfolio of energy efficient hardware and the world’s first multi-storey indirect adiabatic cooling system, designed to BREEAM Excellent standard in the Telehouse North Two data centre.

As part of our corporate social responsibility pledge, we help give back to the local community, by contributing to supporting local activities, sponsoring awards and providing apprenticeship schemes for students from the local college.
