Job Overview

The Facilities Buildings Supervisor is responsible for all Telehouse London Data Centre buildings. This is a pivotal role within a 5* data centre campus, one of the most prestigious in Europe, currently comprising of five data centres in London’s Docklands.

The Building Management Team are responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the buildings, including efficiency, quality and fabric across the site, ensuring that all buildings are maintained in compliance with industry best practices, legislation and relevant ISO standards, that they are energy efficient and serve our teams and customers perfectly.

The role takes ownership of delivering building management projects aiming at continuous improvement of service quality and environment.


Specific responsibilities for:

  • Effective maintenance of existing building fabric and grounds, and responsibility for the planning and delivery of fabric enhancements as a Strategic Plan
  • Management of the project works relating to the maintenance or enhancement of the buildings, including RAMS, permits and completion sign-off
  • Explore and communicate innovations in building management and DC fabric to manager
  • Overseeing of site compliance. This includes (but is not limited to):
    • MWater management (L8)
    • LOLER
    • Fire detection, systems and suppression; Fire risk assessment
    • Fuel management & Environmental (EA)
    • HSE – Health and Safety
    • Fixed Wire Testing and remedial actions
    • Noise assessments and associated PPE
    • Roof access and associated controls
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and Business Continuity legislation for fire safety, environmental management and business continuity practises.
  • Ensure that all building support-related incidents are tracked, and customer complaints and non-conformities are documented and acted upon in a timely and collaborative manner.
  • Recording risks where they are identified using the central DC Operations risk register.
  • Liaise with external suppliers for the provision of goods and services as and when required.
  • Responsible for delivery of the annual Energy Saving Plan – to be written by the DC
  • Managing assets within the CAFM system as they are impacted by fault, repair or enhancement, correctly managing associated costs and ensuring and ongoing maintenance is planned and completed.


Key requirements:

  • Experience in building management, service delivery and infrastructure, and managing teams
  • PC literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to analyse data
  • Excellent proven reporting skills and ability to draw fact-based conclusions, and then act on the evidence
  • Good knowledge of compliance and various standards, and evidence of previous achievement in this area
  • Good knowledge of statutory requirements and familiarity with audits, plus evidence of success in meeting requirements
