Job Overview

We are looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a broad, hands-on legal role supporting colleagues across the business and providing practical legal, commercial and risk management advice.

The role is delivery-focused and involves hands-on drafting, negotiation and day-to-day legal support. With main focus on general commercial and corporate legal work, the role offers additional exposure to construction and projects matters.

About you

You will be a proactive, approachable and adaptable legal professional who enjoys building trusted relationships across a business. You will bring sound judgement, attention to detail and a solutions-focused mindset, while maintaining confidentiality and high professional standards when handling sensitive commercial and legal matters

 

Key tasks:

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and construction contracts,
    including industry standard customer and supplier agreements
  • Provide clear and commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders across the
    business while highlighting any contractual risks
  • Support other departments in the business on contractual matters, renewals and
    amendments, ensuring they are properly documented
  • Work collaboratively with all areas of the business, helping teams understand and
    manage legal risk
  • Respond to internal queries on legal issues in a clear and commercially focused way
  • Assist with ad hoc legal matters arising in Construction and Projects teams
  • Actively contribute to the development of standard templates, precedents and legal
    processes
  • Support the Legal team in monitoring and responding to relevant legal and
    regulatory developments

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Law, with 2-5 years of post-qualification
    experience
  • Previous work history in commercial law, corporate, real estate, or construction law
  • Transactional Expertise – Strong background in negotiating high-value, complex,
    long-term contracts
