Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Centre Manager to manage allocated sites, with the goal of all facilities operating reliably, efficiently and to the highest standard.
Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of the buildings, facilities and critical M&E systems, by working closely with specialist teams and FM contractors, and ensuring the infrastructure remains safe and compliant under the ISO standards.
Key tasks:
- Lead the day-to-day management and performance of assigned data centre sites, ensuring facilities, infrastructure, and critical systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently
- Oversee the maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement of building fabric, M&E systems, and associated assets
- In collaboration with other Senior Data Centre Managers support the DC Operations Director in developing and maintaining a Multi-Year Site Plan
- Manage FM service providers, ensuring high-quality delivery of planned maintenance, statutory compliance activities and SLAs
- Produce monthly reports on the FM provider’s performance, deliverables, against the contract and works plan
- Monitor site performance, incidents, risks, and asset health, ensuring issues are identified, resolved, and documented effectively
- Support operational budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and project delivery, ensuring value for money and successful completion of planned works.
- Champion health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across all site activities, adhering to relevant legislation, industry standards, and ISO frameworks
- Drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and best practice initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders and specialist teams
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus
- Build strong relationships with contractors, and internal stakeholders, providing clear communication, reporting, and operational leadership
Essential Requirements:
- Significant experience of working in mission critical mechanical & electrical environment within a large company
- Degree in Engineering or related field
- Significant experience in people management experience required, with both direct and indirect reports.
- CDCTP is preferred but not essential
- Experience in data center’s or a similar critical infrastructure environment’s
- Understanding of maintenance governance principles
- Good understanding of ISO Standards
- IOSH and BIFM qualifications/membership
- Nebosh National General Certificates
