Procurement Manager

Job Overview:
The role is responsible for managing and developing relationships with stakeholders and suppliers driving value for money across the organisation, managing risks, optimising supplier performance, including continuous improvement in quality, service, and delivery, integrating innovations, projects and Systems whilst supporting other categories as directed by Senior Procurement Manager.

Key Tasks:
  • Category management, negotiating/managing framework Agreements with suppliers for DC infrastructure and other categories, identifying and realising opportunities to optimise and leverage high performing suppliers
  • Managing implementation of end to end procurement process, covering sourcing, tendering processes, commercial and contractual negotiation
  • Actively review market, share market intelligence with the business and identify new and alternative suppliers
  •  Analyse Data, review Categories and provide opportunities and solutions to drive efficiencies effectively through existing supply chain
  • Lead and build effective relationships with key suppliers to drive value through cost effectiveness and access to innovation
  • Ensure suppliers are safe, secure, sustainable and appropriately accredited
  • Actively condition suppliers and act as point of escalation to leverage Company brand.
  • Mobilising the contract and identifying the level of contract management activity required.
  • Overseeing and supporting   annual ‘supply chain reviews ’ for each Department,   understanding departments needs and objectives,  identify procurement activity and  assist in implementation.
  • Support departments in managing allocated spend area 3rd party spend in compliance with agreed authorisation policy and procurement committee process
  • Advise, support and be point of escalation for resolving supplier related issues.
  • Work with Compliance and Legal to consider applicable/required regulations, standards and legislation.
  • Support in developing all aspects of procurement – policy, operations, systems, sourcing, supplier management to drive continuous improvement aligned with overall Company strategy.

Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Business or relevant field.
  • SME experience working in a Commercial business environment
  • Professional qualifications in Procurement (e.g. MCIPS).
  • Experience of working within procurement function in a Procurement Manager capacity
  • Experience of working with a range of procurement data and systems including P2P systems (mandatory)
  • Analytics expert with high levels of diligence and attention to detail focused on creating great quality outputs.
  • Able to translate complex data and information into effective stories and presentations for stakeholders e.g. create effective presentations and output which clearly articulate key data points.
  • Proven experience in end to end procurement processes, from conception through to implementation; with the ability to engage and collaborate with all levels of stakeholders Internal and External
  • Previous Indirect/facilities Category Knowledge (principle and process)
  • Experience of working to and within ISO regulated processes and procedures.
  • Proven track record of successful supplier negotiation and management and delivery of savings targets.
  • Understanding of cost models and associated financial and commercial concepts and how they impact contract terms and conditions and resulting supplier behaviours.(ROI and value management).
  • Experience of managing a Tender process
