Telehouse Europe Sells Majority of Stake in Telehouse Deutschland GmbH to e-shelter Group

Apr 6, 2005

Telehouse Europe partners with e-shelter group to provide the highest quality international datacentre solutions to pan-European organisations

Frankfurt, Germany – Telehouse International Corporation of Europe Limited (Telehouse Europe) has announced the sale of a majority stake in Telehouse Deutschland GmbH (Telehouse Deutschland) to Bridlepath GmbH (Bridlepath), part of the e-shelter group of companies. e-shelter is an established company that plans, develops and operates high-availability data centres in Germany. The Telehouse German operation will continue to operate as normal and existing Telehouse customers will not experience any break in service, or change to the terms and conditions of their current contracts.

As part of this agreement, Telehouse Europe has formed an alliance with e-shelter to provide the highest quality international datacentre solutions to pan-European organisations. Both parties will undertake joint sales and marketing activities with the Telehouse brand continuing to be used in Germany.

Adrian Bannington, Financial Director of Telehouse Europe said “This agreement allows Telehouse Europe to benefit from existing local market expertise in Germany through e-shelter and to ensure that our customers continue to receive the highest standards of service.”

Rupprecht Rittweger, Managing Director of e-shelter said “By working in close co-operation with Telehouse we will be able to offer customers a pan-European co-location solution and further expand our offerings in the German market.”

The agreement allows Telehouse Europe to reduce its operating costs in Germany and focus the continuing development on its core European markets of Paris and London, whilst still having a pan-European capability through strategic partnerships. For e-shelter the agreement provides the opportunity to both extend its geographic presence in Germany and complement its current service offering, highly customized large-scale datacentres, with flexible co-location facilities.

Telehouse Deutschland operates three colocation sites based in Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich.
