Telehouse Europe announces sale of Geneva Datacentre

Apr 5, 2004

Telehouse International Corporation of Europe has, today, announced the sale of its 100% shareholding in Telehouse Suisse to IXEurope.

The business transfers as a “going concern” to its new owners and its operation will continue under the existing team, which means that the transition will have no impact on Telehouse’s customers in Geneva. This marks the execution phase of Telehouse Europe’s dual market strategy:

  • To own and operate co-location and datacentre facilities in a limited number of “Tier 1” markets, and

  • To build on its unparalleled experience and operational expertise to provide value added services and extended geographic coverage through partnerships.

Three new datacentres were added through the partnership programme in 2003 (in Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon) and new services include Managed Exchange, Storage and Security Services.

Commenting on the sale, Katrina Payne, Group Sales & Marketing Director for Telehouse Europe, said “The concentrated market approach of our new strategy allows us to focus on best-in-class service and innovation for our customers in those markets where we choose to operate. It will also generate a growth in profits which further enhances a thirteen year track record of financial success for the Telehouse Europe Group”.
