Telehouse Europe announces an enhanced “Plug and Go” IP Transit service for SMEs

Telehouse Europe today announces an enhanced “plug and go” IP transit service, ServerSocket, which offers SMEs the ability to gain a fast, flexible and failsafe Internet connection.

ServerSocket provides a wide range of features, including direct connection to Tier 1 Internet carriers and BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) based multi-homing networks. In addition, all ServerSocket customers now have access to a new web based console (powered by Telehouse Systems Observer) offering a wide range of useful reports and performance statistics.

Systems Observer offers Telehouse Europe customers the ability to monitor not only device response time and packet loss, but a raft of other useful statistics such as CPU and memory usage, interface and volume utilisation and application availability.

Multi-homing is the process of connecting a network to two or more different Internet service providers (ISPs). Connecting to multiple ISPs allows SMEs to maintain 100% availability, and in many cases, improve performance by getting applications closer to the users who need it. The ability to maintain a consistent level of access and performance is becoming a pre-requisite for most businesses today.
